On the cold days the frigid Artic air stings your face and seems to paralyze any exposed skin.

In the far past,  dogs pulled us on the Bay and up the frozen highway rivers. Now snowmobiles lug our sleighs.

In the cold, you often see ice clouds formed by the moisture rising from the Bay.  As the sky meets the bluish white gray horizon of the land, the colours seem to flow into those of the snow covered land.

I found some goose decoys sticking out of the snow.

For me they look like sentinels who are guarding the amazing pretundra that surrounds Chisasibi.

We do not have as many geese as we had in the past.  Some of the elders say they will not fly here as long as they can eat and stay in the warm cities of the south.

For us, it is very strange that people in the cities hate them and oil their eggs to kill them.

Did they ever think that we could use the eggs?
