I took this photo in the latter part of April 1997.
The Hale-Bopp Comet was quite visible at this time.
The Northern Lights were just spectacular on this particular night.
It was about 11:30 - 12:00 PM.
I set up my Nikon F70 on a tripod along the LaGrande river bank.
I used KODAK 400 ASA film, 16mm wide angle lens and had the aperture fully open for about 12 seconds. ( I don't really remember because I did a roll of 36 at various settings )
In the photo you see the lights of my village (Chisasibi) in the background.
Hopefully this photograph will bring years of enjoyment for those who come into possession of it.
This is a very unique photograph in that the Hale-Bopp comet will not be visible for another thousand years. (so the experts say!)
